I’m sure we’ve all had those days in quarantine when our hair just won’t do what it’s supposed to. Or you’re on day three hair and running out of ways to style it. So I rounded up 5 of my favorite fun and flirty hairstyles to share with you guys. These looks have a lot of volume and texture, which we love! Click on each style to see a video of it too!
Happy styling xx

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you guys have probably seen this hairstyle on repeat. I love half-up hairstyles, and this Kim K, 90s-inspired look is one of my favorites right now.
I start by running a straightener through my hair to smooth it out. Before starting the updo, I part my hair evenly down the middle and pull out my bangs on both sides. Then, I section off the top of my hair so it’s in line with my eyebrows to create the updo. Once I have it sectioned off, I use a teasing comb to smooth it out and make it look sleek. From here, I gather the hair I just sectioned off into a ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. I like to get the ponytail pretty high so it looks like it has more bounce and volume. To style it, I use a straightener to curl my bangs inward to help frame my face better. For the bottom half, I like to go through and straighten out any pieces I missed and curl the bottoms outward. I like to do pretty intense outward curls so it stays all day and looks a little bit more dramatic. You can always brush out the ends to calm it down!
To style the ponytail, I take a bit of hair, wrap it around the base to hide the hair tie, and use bobby pins to secure it. This makes it look more polished! I like to flip the ends of the ponytail inward instead of out so the top and bottom half of my hair creates a complementary shape to each other. Add a little extra volume to the ponytail by backcombing it!

I always get a ton of DMs on my space buns and actually loved them in this vlog. It’s a hairstyle that looks cuter the messier it gets, so don’t worry about getting it perfect! It starts off similar to the half-up look. I pull out my bangs in the front to help frame my face and section off the top half. Then, I’ll split the top half evenly down the middle, create little pigtails on each side and tie it with a hair tie. I like to do these pretty high! Next, create messy buns with the pigtails and secure them with bobby pins. The easiest way to do this is by using your fingers to shape it the way you want it to look and then replace your fingers with the bobby pins. Pull out any stray pieces to create that undone look!

Beach waves are a tried-and-true hairstyle that’s always perfect for summer…or quarantine LOL. I start by sectioning my hair so I can curl it layer by layer. If you have short hair like me, I actually use a straightener to curl the lower sections inward. It helps add a little texture and volume to the lower layers! Once I’m done with the straightener, I go in with a curling wand and curl each piece away from my face, leaving the ends out to keep them straight. Wrapping the pieces around the wand only for a couple of seconds will help create those loose and relaxed waves. When I’m curling the top layer, I like to get all the way to the root to get as much volume as I can. From here, I focus dry shampoo on the roots and work it into my hair. This helps you get that extra texture and volume. I’ll also go in with a texturizing spray and brush my fingers through the curls to make it look a little more messy and lived-in.

Claw clips are a fun accessory that helps create the most effortless looks. To create an updo, I start by sectioning off my bangs in the front and gathering my hair in a mid-ponytail. I’ll twist the ponytail upward and loop it down the back like I’m folding it in half. Then, I’ll secure it with a claw clip and adjust it to look as messy as I want.

Crimping is a super easy hairstyle that’s great for day two or three hair. It works with pretty much any hair texture and previous styling because you’re just shaping the pieces with a straightener. I use a clip to section my hair off and start by crimping my hair in layers, going piece by piece. With the straightener close to the root, I like to start by curling inward. Then, I’ll curl outward right below the section I just curled in. I’ll repeat this until I get to the end, which I like to leave straight. It helps to hold the piece you’re crimping taut at the bottom so it’s easier to create the wave and the curls are more solidified. You can always go back to fine-tune the pieces that don’t look bent enough. Adding dry shampoo to the roots will give it some texture and fluff!
