Edgy Date Night Look
I’ve always been one to slip on my boyfriend’s clothes and rock them as my own. There’s something sexy and edgy about wearing men’s clothing. Although its bulky and oversized I find it to be uber chic and transformative for a look. Plus I find comfort in throwing on Clayton’s clothes. Wether it’s for my morning run, my at home work wear, or a date night look I like to keep my man near me at all times, and what better way to do that then steal his clothes 😉
Anyways, enough about my obsession with my boyfriend and men’s clothing in general and on to this edgy date night look I created for you guys. If you want to learn more about it all read on!
Layers, Texture, And Sass
Typically date night looks consist of feminine elements like dresses, heels, sparkles, florals etc. Sometimes I like these elements for date night looks as well. But generally I lend towards more of an edgy style, and I thought it would be fun to create a date night look reflecting my personal style. In order to achieve this I decided I would go with the old layering trick. Layers can really make or break a look, they are like a secret mixture that will create the perfect look or a disaster.
The key to these layers was keeping it simple but on theme. I was clearly going with the rocker chic theme so I stuck to mostly black with a pop of denim. I tried adding in my newly borrowed (via my Mom) LV backpack, but I found the brown to be too natural and contrasty with this theme. So I opted for no purse and handed over my belonging to Clayton and his pockets – haha! I also wanted to add in some fun textures. This mesh bodysuit by Cosabella is the perfect piece as it comes pre layered. The silver chain detail of the belt adds an extra touch and ties in the silver hardware on the leather jacket which is Clayton’s. I kept it casual with some high waisted denim by River Island. But I added a touch of fancy with these lace up strappy heels by Public Desire. Topped off with my go-to messy top knot, a pair of sunnies, and a dark red lip and I felt super date night ready!
That’s all for today’s post. Keeping it short and sweet as I’m running around like crazy doing errands, planning for our weekend getwaway to Napa this coming weekend and the alike. But I wanted to share a few styling tips from this fun look with you guys. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know if you put together an edgy date night look using your bf’s clothes! Xx
