Staycation Vibes
Over this past weekend Clayton and I had the pleasure of doing a little staycation at The W Hotel in Hollywood. It was such a fun little trip and experience so I figured I would share it with you guys! Since we only leave an hour or so outside of LA we don’t usually stay out there. But I must say it was such a fun way to spend the weekend and I’m hoping to do more staycations soon! If you want to learn more about it read on!
Wake Up Call Fest
The reason we headed out to the city this weekend was to attend Wake Up Call Fest at the W Hollywood Hotel. Wake Up Call Fest is festival being held at multiple W Hotels locations throughout the world. It’s such a great idea to host a festival at the hotel. Because let me tell you, festivals are SO much fun, but they can also be super draining and tiring. It’s 8+ hours of music, dancing, and partying. So the fact that you can cruise down to your hotel room, order some room service, take a nap, freshen up etc. is absolutely genius.
I also loved that the festival was held in various areas of the hotel. For instance the sets in the ‘Living Room’ which is basically the lobby were always pretty laid back and more easy going. Where as the sets at the pool area were more high energy. But overall the vibe was very casual and fun which Clayton and I loved! Everyone was happy to be there and having a good time. I consider myself a grandma when it comes to staying up late and partying hard, but I love live music, socializing, and trying new things. Wake Up Call Fest was the perfect balance for me as I could do both easily! 🙂
Our Stay At The W Hollywood
We arrived to the W Hollywood on Friday night after a long and busy work week. We decided it would be the perfect time to have a nice little double date with a few of our friends that live in LA. So we took the opportunity to check out the restaurant at the W – Delphine. Here we enjoyed the casual yet refined atmosphere and the delicious food and cocktails. It was a perfect way to kick off the weekend. Clayton and I visited Delphine a few more times during our stay as the food, service, and ambience were all great!
For the rest of the weekend we explored various parts of LA, enjoyed the luxury of hotel living (AKA room service) and of course attended the Wake Up Call Festival. The W is nestled in the heart of Hollywood which offers tons to do and see right nearby. But it’s also convenient to hop to other areas of LA. For instance we took a short drive to Silver Lake on Saturday to explore the neighborhood and have brunch. On Sunday we drove about 15 minutes to the Melrose Flea Market to explore all things old and new. It was such a fun little weekend getaway. And I would totally recommend the W as the staff was so sweet and helpful, there was tons to do and see in and outside of the hotel, and the food was delish!
Now we’re off to New York for Fashion week. I’m sure I’ll have tons to share from that trip as well so stay tuned!
