Unconventional Fall Fashion
I’ve never been shy about trying out unusual styles. My entire life I’ve been pushing the envelope when it comes to fashion. Now that I’m living in Southern California I find my Fall style is a lot different than it once was when I lived in cooler climates. I’m still able to squeeze in some cozy looks on those chilly (ish) days and crisp mornings. However, I’ve still had to adjust to make the look appropriate for the nearly always sunny SoCal weather. For today’s post I’ll be sharing one of my favorite pairings at the moment and how I like to style it. Read on for more!
Shorts Season Forever
I really don’t want shorts season to end – ever. Therefore I’m extended this trend for as long as I can. Winter might be hard to make this one work but I think I can get away with it all Fall long. I’ve been loving this look with cozy counterparts to balance out the look and make it seem weather appropriate. I’m also obsessed with the pair I’m wearing in today’s post as they are a little longer and more boyish. This is definitely the perfect pair to style up in these cooler months as they technically do offer more coverage 😉
Chunky Knits With Everything
It’s safe to say that we are all obsessed with chunky knits during this time of the year. Nothing completes a look or makes you feel more seasonal than a nice cozy sweater. I’ve been super into the oversized look as it makes everything extra cozy and cuddly. For today’s look I went for an oversized chunky open sweater. It’s basically like wearing a blanket around with you everywhere which is ideal if you ask me. I also love this silhouette because it allows you to layer and drape in a multitude of ways. I went for the full Fall look today by layering with a turtle neck. However, these pieces are also great for throwing on over a bodysuit, a band tee, or a lacy camisole.
OTK Boots
My hero item for Fall/Winter is probably always going to be over the knee boots. They are just SO GOOD. As I mentioned above I’m trying to make the denim short look last all year and I feel like OTK boots really makes that possible. I’ve invested in my stock of OTK boots lately as I’ve been wearing them with everything. White ones, black ones, pointed toe, round toe, you name it I probably have or want it. This trend is truly timeless and essential for Fall and Winter looks. To seal off the look I paired some gold accessories like this chain belt and my new favorite Mejuri necklace and this fun R.I. purse which is a great dupe to the Valentino Garavani bag.
Are you guys into this Fall look? Let me know! Xx
