I am so excited to share today’s blog post with you guys! The past month has been a crazy ride and a lot of changes are coming. These are things that Clayton and I have been thinking about and looking forward to for a long time so I’m so glad to finally be sharing these updates with all of you!
A Change of Scenery
If you’ve noticed on IG stories we’ve been dealing with some construction at our current apartment. Unfortunately this has resulted in us deciding to move on as we felt it best to get out of the situation. Since I work from home dealing with construction etc. is pretty hard on me. And because we’re renting, we have the flexibility to move around. So we took this as an opportunity to go explore a new city – something I LOVE to do.
To be honest I had my heart set on moving to NYC as it’s something I’ve wanted to do for years. However, everything just happened so quickly and we weren’t quite ready to pull the trigger on that one, so instead we decided to try out LA. If you follow along on Instagram you probably know that we already spend a lot of time in LA for meetings, events, and shooting content. Being that Orange County is only an hour or so away it’s been very accessible to us while we’ve lived in Laguna.
A Stepping Stone
Although I spend a lot of time in LA for work and play, I’ve never been super in love with LA. You know how sometimes you just click with a city and sometimes you don’t? Well a lot of things about LA have always rubbed me the wrong way. But I’ve never lived there. And I find that I’m often pleasantly surprised with how much I like something once I’ve given myself the opportunity to learn more about it. So I’m treating this move as an adventure, and I’m open to being pleasantly surprised by what it will bring to my life and my perspective.
I’m also thinking of it as a transitional move for us. As I mentioned before, NYC is definitely on my to-do list for places to live. I figured that LA would be a nice transition between Laguna Beach and NYC. It can help us adjust to city life, downsize our belongings (because our new place has very minimal storage) and gear us up for what’s to come. Of course you can never really plan life out so I have no idea how everything will go and what it will bring, but I am excited and open to all that is to come!
P.s. I can’t wait to decorate and show you guys our new place! 🙂
In Other News….
Not only are we moving but we also have some exciting personal/business changes happening in our lives. Clayton has officially left his job and is now a full time part of the social media world! Meaning he is basically a full time IG hubby – LOL. I know it sounds kind of silly and can definitely be underplayed, but this is seriously such an exciting development for us personally and professionally.
This is a goal that we’ve been working towards since I started blogging three years ago. It was always a dream that we had. And with enough time, hard work, and patience we’ve finally gotten to a place where we feel we can take this leap. It’s still scary and a little nerve racking but it’s so exciting for us. Because we are so close as a couple it was really difficult for us to live two different lifestyles. Although Clayton had a great job that he enjoyed, it was hard to imagine living the rest of our lives in two very different ways. We like to do nearly everything together, and we definitely want to be able to live our lives in the same fashion. Having freedom, flexibility and lots of time together are top priorities for us. We are willing to sacrifice other things to make sure we can have these things in our lives. So needless to say we are thrilled about this change and we can’t wait to see all the things we can get done! We will be working on lots of exciting projects and endeavors now, and I can’t wait to share them with you all!
