Fall vibes are in full swing and I am digging every moment of it. Cozy sweaters, earth tones, beanies, and boots…these are the items that have been populating my wardrobe as of late. Today I am going to show you how I styled this sweater-dress as a twist on the classic sweater trend.
THE FEEL
What I personally like most about this sweater-dress is the way it feels, second best is the way it looks! Let me tell you more about this cozy feel! First of all, it is seriously so comfortable. The material is soft and breathable as well as stretchy. The texture of the dress provides for as much movement as necessary while gallivanting around the city. I knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking this day so I really wanted to be comfortable and relaxed with my clothes, but I also wanted to be cute. I think this sweater-dress does the perfect job of achieving that.
THE FIT
The body-con silhouette is one I personally love because it does a good job of complimenting curves. This dress is however still modest (in my opinion at least) as it has a high neck and a mid calf hem. I decided to pair it was a rustic leather jacket that tied together all of the colors and gave it more of chic, cool-girl vibe. This also lead me to throw on these wedged sneakers from Steve Madden that instantly make everything I’m wearing more hip. Because I was traveling at this time and I didn’t have a lot of options but I would also pair this dress with mid calf or ankle booties. The wedged sneakers had an added bonus as they were very comfortable to walk in for several hours.
This is an example of classic fall trend that can be manipulated into a new trend. The sweater-dress is the way to go. You won’t look baggy or sloppy and you will feel comfortable! Its a win-win. But don’t worry this doesn’t mean I will be abandoning the classic sweater trend, as sometimes there is just nothing better than that slouchy old sweater you’ve had forever!
Enjoy xoxo
