Shopping Small
For today’s blog post I partnered up with Western and Co., a small company out of LA that does just about everything locally. Being a consumer of fashion, I have a responsibility to be ethical and thoughtful in my shopping, not just fashionable. One of the many ways I can contribute to the success and growth of the fashion industry is by shopping small. Of course I do lots of shopping at huge companies that don’t have a local mom and pop vibe. But I also feel that its important to support those smaller companies as much as possible. Not to mention, when you shop small you end up getting super unique pieces that have tons of character and a very original feel. This is great, as it may get hard to find your own style sometimes when everyone and their mothers own all the pieces you’re shopping.
Western and Co. is a great company for unique pieces! Hailey is the designer and owner of Western and Co. and she designs everything herself, so amazing! She even prints the tees in a shop right down the street from her, so she is totally staying true to remaining local.
Western and Co. Style
When I first discovered Western and Co. I knew it would be a perfect fit for me. The tees that Hailey creates are influenced by vintage, western, boho vibes. Her graphic tees are often crafty and clever while being so cute and totally wearable. They were so easy to style that I couldn’t decide which looks to settle with! I know that I will be wearing these tees with many different looks in the future!
Today’s Look
For today’s look I decided to pair this “Property of a Cowboy” tee with these wide leg striped slacks. The pants added to the vintage funky feel. I also threw on this red bandana as it brought out the accents in the tee and played on the Western vibe of the tee. The paige boy hat and the disco platforms again added to the vintage vibe. This is such a fun look and would be perfect for any occasion that isn’t too dressy.
