Home Away From Home
As most of you probably know Clayton and I used to live in the Bay Area before we moved to SoCal two months ago. This past weekend we went back for a little bit of work, a little bit of family time, and a little bit of play. I missed San Francisco and it felt good to go wander around there like we used to every weekend. To hear more about our trip and the cutie outfit I wore while there read on!
From The City
Although I’m super happy living next to the beach in SoCal I think I’m naturally a city girl by design. Something about the buzz and the energy of a city really excites me. From SF to NY to LA, I love them all and I get a special kind of inspiration in their presence.
On Saturday we spent the morning shooting with some of my favorite girl bosses for Intrinsic Flair. Kelly, the owner, and Amanda, the photographer have been colleagues of mine for over a year now and I love working with them. Such good energy and so much fun. This shoot was no different. After we wrapped Clayton and I explored downtown and shot some street style looks. It made me realized how much I really miss those city backdrops for photos 😉
After we shot for a while we headed over to our favorite burger place in the city – Roam. They’ve got the most amazing veggie burger PLUS truffle fries. What more could you want? And they’ve got really yummy house made kombucha. If you’re ever in the Bay Area you must go! After lunch we decided to stroll around some other neighborhoods, stop for tea (and photos of course!) and just enjoy the energy of San Francisco before heading out.
To The Country
After leaving the city we went back to Clayton’s parents house in Napa. Napa is a totally different vibe from San Francisco – rolling green hills, farms, a much chiller vibe. We enjoyed exploring a few local Napa restaurants and bars with family and soaked in the beautiful scenery. We topped it off by having a fun little St. Patrick’s Day dinner at home. If you missed my story on Instagram, Clayton’s mom and I made vegan corned beef and it was actually delish!
This was the perfect way to spend our weekend. Soaking in some of our old city, exploring new bits of Napa, and spending quality time with friends, family, and each other.
The Fit
I was excited to go back to the Bay Area so that I could wear something a little more urban. I mean I still do that anyways even living by the beach but it was a lot of fun to wear city outfits in the city. This look by River Island was perfect for our weekend trip. This slouchy sweater dress might be my new favorite thing. It’s a bit baggy so I decided to cinch the waist with a hip belt and tug one sleeve off the shoulder for a more sultry undone look. And since we were back in a colder climate I layered my go-to faux leather jacket over the top. I went with some over the knee boots for a chic and edgy look and topped it all off with my favorite sunnies and a casual pony tail!
Would you guys rock this look in San Francisco? Let me know below! Xx
