Although I myself am not going back to school this year, I can’t help but get inspired by the back to school trends. For today’s post I decided to share this back to school look by river island as well as share a few of my favorite tips and trends for the upcoming year – wether you’re in school or not! Read on for more.

I don’t know about you, but I personally always loved curating a new wardrobe for the coming school year. Unfortunately I had to wear a uniform for the majority of my academic career, but I still loved picked out a few new pieces to step my game up!

For today’s look I decided to keep it pretty classic – maybe it’s my catholic school girl uniform haunting me. Who knows 😉

Either way I couldn’t help but think of back to school when I was styling this outfit. The mini skirt is so perfect for fall and the chic and classic blouse adds an innocent school girl touch. I kept the back to school theme going with my current favorite backpack purse. I added in a pop of white with the booties to help tie in the top, I love how this also gave the look a retro feel. I kept it simple with timeless accessories like these round sunnies and chic little watch.

Aside from this classic school girl styling I’m also loving some other back to school trends this year. Some are timeless and others are new and exciting. For example, good denim is a back to school must as well as a year round necessity. River Island actually carries some of my favorite denim ever and it’s very affordable. I’ve also been loving the denim shorts from GRLFRND denim and reformation at the moment.

Another fun trend to try during this back to school season is 90s grunge. From plaid shirts to band tees and distressed denim, I think this styling is so fun and perfect for a casual back to school look. Aside from that you can’t forget the fall basics such as sweaters, mini skirts, and boots and booties!
