A Spin On A Classic Look
Statement Sleeves
I have always been a fan of statement sleeves. Wether it is a big boho bell sleeve or a frilly chic one like this, I’m in. I’m not sure what it is about statement sleeves, but there is totally something about them that makes me want all of them. Maybe it’s the idea that the top can still be somewhat simplistic and understated. But at the same time the top still has a lot of attitude and personality just because of the sleeves.
Today’s top definitely fits into that category. For the most part this top is pretty classic and simple. But the frilly wide layered sleeves make it a unique and charming piece to add to any look. An instant favorite for me!

Uniform Inspired?
What’s funny about this look is where it may or may not have been inspired from. When my older brother saw this outfit he told me it was Amish, LOL. I don’t actually think that’s my inspo for this look but hey, anything is possible.
Although I have loved fashion my entire life, I wasn’t always able to express it. For 10 years I wore a uniform to school every day. And of course I despised it because I wanted to style everything about my outfit from head to toe. And although I would never say I miss wearing a uniform, maybe this outfit is kind of an ode to those days. The black jumper dress reminds me of my catholic school girl days, especially paired with these white socks. If only my uniform had these kind of sleeves, I would have been much more content.
Anyways, there’s some possible ideas of where this styling may have come from. Or it could simply be from current trends and styles. Who knows 😉
