Let’s Celebrate

As of late everything has been go-go-go! Can anyone relate? I know we all do this to ourselves. For whatever reason it always seem with the coming of Summer there is also the coming of chaos. So many plans, trips, events, and to-do’s! Although my schedule has been jam packed I’ve tried to keep space in my life for celebrating the small things. It’s been a great way for me to feel grateful for how far I’ve come while appreciating all things along the way as well as feel more grounded and living in the moment. Anywhere, Anytime, Anything
Often times we feel that we need it to be a certain time, place, or occasion to celebrate. But that’s sort of silly. Isn’t every moment something to be celebrated? We are surviving, evolving, and navigating our way through the world let us not forget. These are no small accomplishments. We get so wrapped up in what’s next, how much money can I make next year, what big job will I get next, etc. etc. We are so concerned with the future and the next achievement, celebration, or occasion that we forget to celebrate where we are and what were doing right now.
It feels quite good to appreciate the here and now. To celebrate the successes you’ve made along the way, rather than scoping out your next ones. I think it’s great to set goals and to work towards them, but not if you’re never going to celebrate achieving any of them. And not if you can’t appreciate the small things along the way either. It doesn’t have to be a Saturday night, or a milestone, or a tropical destination to relax, take it all in, and celebrate the moment and the place you are in your life. What I’m saying is next time you want to celebrate anything and everything you can do it anywhere at any time. From fancy dinner on a Tuesday night to a wine picnic on the beach in your favorite party dress, just celebrate!

Do It Your Way
Last week Clayton and I took to the beach in my favorite new party dress from Nasty Gal, accompanied by our favorite rose and some fresh blooms to celebrating nothing, or everything, however you choose to see it. Before doing so I decided that I wanted to share this idea and experience with you guys. So we ended up packing up the camera gear and turning it into a lit bit of work as well. But rest assured we actually did what I’m talking about. We sat there staring out at the ocean cheers-ing on a Tuesday to bliss of life just the way it is. It was such a satisfying and peaceful way to spend a random Tuesday night.
But like I mentioned above, do this your way. It doesn’t have to look similar to my idea of it to get the job done. Maybe this means laying in the park for an hour, maybe it’s going to a fun restaurant or bar all dressed up mid week, maybe it’s baking a cake with your best friend or your mom to celebrate the fact that your capable to learn, create, and explore new things. The possibilities are endless but the end result is the same no matter how you cut it. Celebrate where you are, how far you’ve come, and exactly what you have now and always! Xx
