Monogrammed Is In!
Have you guys noticed monogrammed pieces popping up everywhere lately? Wether its on Instagram, street style, or the latest designer pieces I’ve noticed that monogrammed looks are so hot right now. I’m loving the trend as I think it’s timeless and nostalgic, it gives me a sort of throwback feel. If you want to learn more about this current trend read on!
Two Piece Perfection
I’ve always been a sucker for two piece sets. They are the easiest to style, not only are they effortless but they are also timeless. My current favorite way to rock a two piece set is to tie in the monogrammed theme. For today’s look I’ve paired up this monogrammed denim skirt and jacket from River Island. It’s got a subtle enough design that the look isn’t too overpowering and or cheeky – something that can easily go wrong with this trend. Since the look still has a lot going on with a double patterned set – I kept the other pieces simple and minimalistic, except for the extremely sparkly cross body belt bag that I had to add in. Aside from this one extra touch, my tee shirt and sneakers kept everything casual and laid back.
Another great part of two piece sets is that they are versatile in the way that you get a 2 for 1. I’ve already paired the baggy cropped jacket with an oversized tee and biker shorts. It’s the perfect compliment to that casual but edgy look I’ve been loving lately. The skirt would also pair well for a chic-er look. Perhaps a turtleneck sweater and some OTK boots for a chillier fall day!
Accessorize The Trend
Aside from being seen in the apparel space I’ve also seen the monogrammed look make a big comeback in accessories. This is no surprise as I believe the OG inspo for this entire trend stems from the classic designer handbags stamped with their logo/lettering. For example – Louis Vuitton, Fendi, and Christian Dior bags do this trend oh so well. I’m actually dying to get my hands on a vintage monogrammed Fendi baguette or the iconic monogrammed saddle bag by Christian Dior. Clearly I’m loving this trend, wether it be through a purse, a two piece set, or anything else – I’m on board!
