Fashion Forecast Spring 2018

There’s something about Spring that brings out the girly-er side of me. I’m not sure what it is. Maybe it’s the flowers, the warm weather, the pastel hues? Whatever it is – it happens every year! I find myself embracing more playful prints, frilly things, and girly accessories. Today’s look will share a few of these elements as well as my top styling tips for Spring! Read on for more.

Bring On The Frill

For this (and every) Spring I’m all about the quintessential ‘Spring’ looks. For example, I love a good gingham print. From classic black and white gingham to yellow, pink, red etc. I want it all when Spring rolls around. I’m also totally on board for lace, eyelets (like this amazing River Island dress) and ruffles. Surprisingly this year I don’t think I’ll be falling for the floral like I usually do. But there will still be plenty of girly elements in my daily looks during this season!

Essentially I feel like Spring brings out a more polished chic look. For example I know I’ll be loving all of the light airy fabrics. Think vacay cruise mode. Matching linen sets, light colors, breezy textures. I also find that I’m drawn to modest cuts and silhouettes during Spring. High necks, long sleeves, and mid length skirts are a must for my Spring wardrobe!

Still Boyish, Still Bold

Although you’ll find me cleaning up my looks this Spring I know I’ll still be incorporating some edgy daring pieces. I’ve always had a boyish element to my style and I find it so fun to add that into my girly Spring looks. I am all about balancing my looks with contrasting styles.

For today’s look I had to throw on some sneakers. One of my favorite styling tricks of all time is to pair dresses with sneakers. It creates such a balanced look that allows me to feel comfortable and look stylish – winning all around. There’s no way I would have opted for a pair of heels or sandals with this look. That would have made it entirely too girly for me!
