Hi babes! It’s been a minute since I wrote a blog post – since I skipped last week. I planned on writing a blog post for NYFW as I always do – but to be totally honest with you guys, I was WAY too cold to shoot a blog post look while out there so I just omitted the entire thing ha! I apologize for this short coming on my behalf but I did upload a vlog of the weekend that you can find here!
For today’s post I’ll be sharing a look that I recently wore that really inspired me and reminded me that it’s important to have fun with your fashion. I thought I would share this insight with you guys in hopes of inspiring a few of you as well. Enjoy! xx
Fun With Fashion
I often times get so caught up in perfecting my looks to be flattering, acceptable, on trend, etc. that I forget to have fun with it. When pairing this look together I was reminded how important it can be to sprinkle this factor into your wardrobe.
Fashion has always been an outlet for me to express myself, explore my creativity, and to celebrate a passion of mine. I want to make sure to keep my styling fun at all times to ensure that fashion is always an enjoyable outlet for me. Although it’s become my job in the past two years, I don’t ever want the way I dress to become tiring, boring, or daunting to me. Therefore remembering to keep it light and fun will keep me focused on the parts of fashion that got me interested in the first place!

The Look
I figured today’s look was the perfect opportunity to talk about fun fashion. When I was paring this look together I got a little self conscience that it might be too much or too out there. That’s the thought process that started to remind me that fashion is meant to be fun, not taken too seriously.
For example, puff shoulders, a playful print, and pops of white accessories is quite a bold and spunky look. But in my opinion it’s still all things fashionable – chic, flattering, cutting edge and even trendy. And most importantly I was able to achieve all these things without having to create a boring, safe, inside of the box look. Typically I like to create looks that are easy, casual, and wearable. But from time to time I appreciate challenging my styling capabilities and doing something a bit more bold and of course fun.
