I’ve never been to Seattle before last weekend’s trip but I knew I was going to like it before I even got there. I’ve heard such good things about this city and I’ve always wanted to see it for myself. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I had the best time there. From restaurants, to shopping, to sights to see, I was impressed!
Food, fun and entertainment in Seattle
While I was only in Seattle for a few short days I was able to hop around quite a bit as my boyfriend and I stayed in an air BnB right in downtown. We walked almost everywhere and were able to see so much.
My boyfriend and I actually happen to be vegan so it can be somewhat of a challenge to find ideal food spots. For the most part we can pretty much make anything work anywhere, but it’s nice when you find a place that allows you to relax a little and not tweak any of the ingredients for the dish. Plum bistro was one of those places that felt like a dream come true to us. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. It was the best food I’ve ever had, and definitely the fanciest vegan food I’ve ever had. What a treat! There was some joints and pubs in the downtown area that had fantastic food and very enjoyable atmospheres as well. I didn’t have one bad food experience while I was there!
We also checked out a few bars while we were in the are. A friend of ours suggested a place called the unicorn and it was quite the site to see! Everything in the unicorn is decorated in a sort of circus-y, neon, playful way. there’s bright colors, zebra print, and arcade games. It was so fun to play a few arcade games and drink some fruit loop flavored cocktails at this unique spot. We stopped at a few breweries throughout the weekend too, which were very chill and fun.
The shopping in Seattle
For me of course this was the best part. You can’t take me anywhere and expect me not to check out the mall or at least a few stores in the area. While we were in Seattle my boyfriend was sweet enough to let me go all over and shop!
We don’t have a Zara in our current area so I was really excited to pop in there and check it out. I got some really fun and funky pieces here that I will be sharing on the blog soon enough! We also had to stop into Urban Outfitters because each UO is so unique when it comes to architecture. The one we visited in Seattle was awesome – per usual, and we snagged my bf some really awesome pieces. We also checked out a few local boutiques and had to pick up a few of their unique items!
However, we had to take a chill pill on the shopping (even though I could’ve gone on forever) because of lack of space in our luggage ?. We ended up having to wear quite a few layers home on the plane… All in the name of shopping though so it was worth it!
The Vibe in Seattle
My favorite part of Seattle may have been just the way it feels. I couldn’t get over the atmosphere here and how much I liked it.
It is a relatively large city so it definitely has somewhat of an urban feel to it. However, I noticed the pace of life seemed slower here. The people were all generally relaxed and easy going, not as pressed for time or impatient as they may be in places like SF and NYC. (Which are obviously both amazing places too!) All of the establishments are full but the sidewalks and the streets are not noisy and full of hustle and bustle.
It was really easy to relax and unwind while there because of this vibe. Not to mention, it’s stunningly beautiful with all of the trees, the water, and the mixture of vintage and modern characteristics of the buildings. The cleanliness of the city also impressed me. It’s such a nice clean place to walk around. I absolutely loved it.
Although this was my first trip to Seattle I know it won’t be my last. I can’t wait to explore more cities and see what kind of charm and magic they posses!
