I am so excited to finally share out apartment tour and decor details! We’ve lived in this space for about 5 months now. Which to me, really isn’t that long of time to get situated, organized, and fully decorated. But it seemed as though we had to expedite the process because we probably won’t even live here for a full year before we’re off to our next adventure. This meant that we wanted to enjoy as much time as possible with the space fully decorated. Therefore we’ve been working in overdrive to get this place all sorted out and fully decorated and now we can finally share all of the details with you!

Decor Style + Inspiration
We were so excited to move into this industrial style loft and get to decorating. As someone who enjoys interior design I was giddy over the opportunity of decorating such a unique and aesthetic place. It was such a fun project and we love the way it turned out.
Because it is an industrial style loft it can come off as a very cool toned and almost sterile space. Concrete floors, exposed duct, and no ‘rooms’ gives it a super cool vibe but also proposed a challenge in making it feel homey and warm. Our last place was bohemian eclectic style decor which really complimented the beach town vibe. While still (and always) being eclectic we decided to steer a little bit away from the bohemian style for this space but kept some of the flare with some organic materials, lots of plants, and some fringe + tassels.
One of my biggest inspirations for this space is the AreYouAmI loft here in DTLA. You can check it out here to see what I’m talking about. I loved the contrast of the harsh industrial style finishes next to the ornate details such as the mirrors and chandeliers.
We also tried to use warmth and light as much as possible in the space to make it feel more like home. Sticking to warmer tones like golds, greens, and creams helped achieve a more homey vibe but also kept it pretty neutral – which we wanted. The use of plants and additional lighting really help bring some life to the space as well.
Entry Way
I think this is our first apartment with a proper entry way. I absolutely love this feature as it’s a beautiful space to step into each time you enter the house and I feel that it helps it seem like a proper home. There’s not a ton of space here so we couldn’t go crazy with the furniture and decor but we are glad to have the space. We utilized it for a nice bench, some artwork, and some pampas grass.
Living Room/Kitchen
The ‘living room area’ is a nice open space with a bit of a nook where we decided put our tv, couch, bar cart, coffee table, etc. I like that this space is a bit tucked away and secluded – it helps it feel more cozy. Adding the additional lighting to the back corner was a major game changer as this space in the house has less natural light.
Adding in an area rug is so helpful and necessary in a space like this as well. It helps ‘separate’ the rooms and also warms the space + adds some cushion for the harsh floors. We got this rug at Plush Rugs and I love how neutral it is. I know it will match many more spaces to come and I love that it’s got an intricate but understated design. I prefer this style of rugs because it looks more interesting but isn’t too bold and overpowering! This is also the nicest couch we’ve ever owned and we are so thrilled about it. It’s custom built from Interior Define and it’s not only an aesthetic dream but it’s also super comfortable. We got the Ainsley Couch in Pebble Weave linen and Natural Oak legs. The L shape is a perfect compliment to the space and allows us more room to sprawl out – yay!

Our TV stand is actually a buffet from Anthropologie. We opted for this rather than a true TV stand because it’s a bit taller and we like to hang our TV a little higher on the wall. This piece was a splurge but it’s so beautiful and can be used as TV stand or a buffet in our future living situations!

For our kitchen we didn’t do much decorating as there isn’t much to do. We simply added some storage bins under our island to serve as a pantry replacement since we don’t have one. Other than that we basically left as is and added in a plush runner from Urban Outfitters. We also have a matching runner in the entry hall which ties them in to each other.
Second Living Area + Bedroom
The large open area in our space is used as a sort of second living/seating area the spills into our bedroom area. The use of a rug here really helped define the space as well. We also got this beautiful rug from Plush Rugs and I love the golden and green tones. The design is a little more bold on this one but it’s still neutral and understated enough while being more of a statement piece in the space. We utilized our velvet green couch from Article that we had at our last place to add additional seating in this space. We also used our World Market fuzzy chairs from our last place. I adore these chairs because I think they add a nice texture + pop to almost any decor style and setting. They are also comfortable to sit in too! We have some vintage pieces throughout the house including this chandelier and this ornate large chair. I love the addition of these pieces to give it a more unique feel.

Our Anthropologie mirrors in the house are obviously not vintage but their ornate design makes them seem that way and I love the effect they add to this and any space. A major splurge for sure – but one of my favorite decor items ever! In this space we use the 7′ one and in our entry/living room area we have the 5′ one.

For the bedroom space we used our previous bedroom furniture (nightstands and dresser) which we thrifted from the Long Beach Flea Market. I highly suggest looking for bedroom furniture at thrift markets as they are comparably affordable, very unique, and so fun to find! Our bed frame is from Urban Outfitters and I love it’s simple yet beautiful design. For the bedding we wanted it to be super layered, fluffy, and neutral.

To help this space pop we added in this beautiful wall paper from Wayfair. It’s a creamy color with a gold toile pattern that ties in our ornate details. This was the first time we had ever used wallpaper in a space and we loved the way it turned out! It was relatively easy and even a fun project for us and I’d highly recommend using it to help elevate a space. We prefer hanging lamps rather than table lamps. It’s a really simple way to make the room seem more interesting and unique. Throughout the house we have large windows too, so we invested in some blackout curtains from Pottery Barn. They really work so well and are beautiful too, very happy with them!
Work Space
Our work space/closet area all melt into one. It actually worked out really nicely for our desk set ups. We have two simple white desks from Wayfair. I love these desks as they are super affordable, aesthetic, and they have a bit more surface area than a lot of other desks. I kind of like to sprawl my work out between writing things down, looking at documents, using the computer, etc. it’s nice to have a larger desk top.

To make this space pop and have some character we made our own collage wall. We used vintage magazines from the Melrose Trading post to cut out ads, articles, and the alike and create a collage. This was such a fun project to work on and we LOVE the way it turned out. You can use any type of imagery past or present and I think it will turn out great and add such a fun addition to your space. We picked up our desk chairs from a local thrift shop. Although they are designed to be more like dining room chairs – they fit perfectly in our desks and they are actually super comfy to sit and work in!

The walk in closet nook next to our work place is a custom built closet from Ikea. You can basically design the closet you need for your space – including size, style, adding drawers, shelves, cabinets etc. You then pick it up from Ikea and build it for yourself. All I can say is – thankful for Clayton haha!
Bathrooms
If you watch our home tour video below you will see that we use one of our bathrooms for storage ha! But other than that I was a bit intimidated by the unusual design of our bathroom. I had a hard time decorating it so I kept it pretty simple. I added in two fringed warm toned rugs that really helped warm the space. We also keep fresh eucalyptus on the shower heads to add some life + they smell amazing!
