Hello friends and happy December! Today’s blog look is all about pattern play. For some of us it may be heard to steer away from anything but neutrals, or you may think that stripes and polka dots is just WAY too much going on. But this is not the case, pattern play is a huge trend this season and it’s actually so much fun. Many a time I myself like to stick to basics and keep everything classy and clean, but I also love to spice it up and create fun playful looks that are on trend. Today’s striped off-the-shoulder bodycon is the perfect piece to accessories with a flirty neck scarf and some killer thigh high boots. I sported this look around Mission Beach’s boardwalk in San Diego a few weekends ago.

The Basics of the Look
This dress is one of the pieces I was gifted from Forever 21 and I absolutely love it. Off the shoulder is one of my all time favorite necklines because it’s so classic but it’s also sexy and fun. I’ve also been in love with stripes lately as you can probably tell. Plus black and white is an obvious go-to as it matches virtually anything. In the future I plan on pairing this dress with a trench coat, a really thick scarf, and of course more boots. I think it will also be a great piece in the summer with some chucks, a more casual and simple look.
These boots are seriously a wardrobe staple. Over the knee boots are a classic trend that I personally think will never go out of style. They are edgey and cool, fun and sexy… basically everything I need in a boot. Plus the peep toe on these ones from Public Desire add an extra element and makes them stand out a little more.

The Accessories
Bandannas are something I have always loved, maybe because I grew up in the West and I have a bit of a Western flare in me. Lately, I’ve also been digging these little neck scarves, which are more or less the same concept as bandanas just with a slightly different flare to them. I definitely feel somewhat vintage whenever I sport one of these. Probably because it reminds me of the cute girls from the 50’s in their poodle skirts. For today’s look I decided to go for a pattern to accentuate the stripes rather than a solid. Floral and stripes is one of my favorite current pairings so I opted for this floral neck scarf with deep jewel toned hues. I think they paired together nicely.
I decided to keep the accessories minimal and simple for this so I opted for no jewelry. Up the hair went into a fluffy pony tail, and there was the look. Fun, flirty, and on trend with the pattern play! Hope you enjoy!
