Not Your Average Spring Patterns

As we all know Spring is the season of florals. From nature to prints – Spring is all about the florals. Usually I’m all for this, like the rest of the world I suddenly fall head over heels for every floral print that comes my way each Spring. But this year has been different for me. As my style is constantly evolving I find myself turning down florals and gravitating towards other patterns this Spring. Read on to learn more about the patterns I’m loving this season!

See Ya Later Florals

As I mentioned above I’ve been avoiding florals lately. In the recent months I’ve been inspired by more edgy street style fashion and floral just hasn’t fit the bill. Although this past weekend I did opt for a gorgeous floral dress that you can check out here, in general I’m steering clear of them. I find them to be too busy, girly, and over-done for me at the moment.

Surprisingly (but also not surprisingly because it’s actually always been my favorite) I’ve styled today’s Spring look with a leopard kimono. Leopard print doesn’t seem like the go-to spring pattern but if done right it turns out great.

How to Style your Spring Leopard Print  

The hard part with leopard print is keeping it tasteful. You want to achieve a somewhat edgy, sultry look without looking like you belong in a casino. To ensure your look is balanced and well done I suggest pairing your leopard piece with neutrals and basics. This kimono also goes great with swimsuits, graphic tees, and black jeans!

Today’s look

For today’s look I went with a white bodysuit and some distressed grey denim. The grey denim pulled out the black hues of the leopard print and the white top brightens up the look. To tie in the warm/brown element of the leopard I opted for these perfect summer heels! They also bring an element of a feminine touch which helps bring the look together.

To top it off I added some chic and simple MVMT accessories. I am totally  obsessed with this new MVMT watch and bracelet combo. The two sleek bracelets create such a chic and polished look. They also create the perfect accents to the gorgeous watch. Of course I opted for some cat eyed sunnies as it’s the perfect match for the leopard print! 😉
