One of the best things about living with Clayton is unlimited access to his closet. A guy’s closet has a lot of untapped potential filled with versatile basics, oversized clothes, and goodies you normally wouldn’t buy yourself. Whenever I’m struggling with what to wear, I love taking a peek through Clayton’s closet to find the perfect staple piece or finishing touch. So I wanted to introduce a new series on the blog – Stealing from the Guys! And I’m starting with graphic tees. You can steal them from your boyfriend, brother, or friend, shop in the guy’s section, or go a few sizes up in women’s tees. Whatever works for you!
I love the street style vibe oversized graphic tees give off, and I have a few ways I like to style them. I love pairing a graphic tee with baggy denim and sneakers for a casual and laidback 90s vibe. Another casual way you can style graphic tees is to wear it as a dress with chunky sneakers and tube socks, or over-the-knee boots with a denim or leather jacket if you’re planning on a night out. A girlier way I like to style a graphic tee is by pairing it with a miniskirt and a cardigan, which can give it a preppy and fun look. If you have an edgier style like me, I like to pair my graphic tees with faux leather leggings, a blazer, and a fun pair of heels or booties, Another fun thing I like to do is tuck them into slacks and pair it with heels! I think it gives off an elevated and tailored look that can work as business casual. And you can’t forget the classic sporty oversized-tee-and-biker-shorts combo! Adding a small handbag, layered jewelry, a scrunchie and a pair of trendy sunnies will help polish off your look!
