Back To Reality
Happy Monday friends! Today was an especially ‘Monday’ Monday for me as I just returned from Disneyland/California Adventure last night. My boyfriend and his mom took me there to celebrate my birthday, (you guys are the best) it was a few weeks after the fact, but the more celebrating the merrier, right? It was an amazing time. Disneyland is one of my favorite places on Earth and I was especially giddy to be spending time there with two of my very favorite people! I had the best time and I did not want to return to reality. So don’t be surprised if you hear me talking about my Disneyland withdrawals over the next few weeks.
What to Wear For A Family Friendly Trip
As you can see I really love Disneyland, but one of the hardest parts about trips like this is coordinating outfits that are family friendly, practical (AKA comfy to the max), and still somewhat festive and fun. Personally, I like to wear things that align with the way I’m feeling. Disneyland makes me feel young, excited, and energized so although sweats and an old tee would be very practical that’s not quite fun enough in my opinion. But if that is your personal preference there is NOTHING wrong with that, you do you!
This overall dress from Forever 21 was a perfect way for me to add some youth and fun to my look while still keeping it casual and comfy. I did throw on a pair of black spandex underneath so that I had the freedom to be as carefree as possible. Because the dress is patterned I opted for a plain white top from Brandy Melville.
All In The Details
When it comes to looks that will work at a theme park, a baseball game, the mall or any other family friendly outing the details really matter. For example, while at Disneyland we walked around 20 miles over the 3 day period. We also indulged in lots of sweets and goodies so it was a great way to work off the calories. But it also meant that our feet took a great beating. I love a good pair of boots, wedges, sandals, etc. but when it comes to an outing like this comfort actually comes before style. Fortunately there is lots of cute and comfy shoes. Converse is one of my favorites along with adidas, nikes, and vans.
When spending a day in the sun its also super important to have your hat game/sunglass game up to par. This way you won’t be squinting all day and dealing with a nasty sun burn the next day. This cutie Mickey the Mouse hat is from Urban Outfitters. I love that I would actually wear this hat outside of Disneyland too. Some disney stuff is way too gaudy to get away with anywhere but the parks but this one is cute and subtle in my opinion!
