Sweater Weather
Good morning friends! Over here in the Bay Area the days have been cooling down, Fall is right around the corner. With crisper weather on the way I’ve been wrapping myself up in a robe and slippers each morning, grabbing a cup of tea and spending an hour or so on my porch. It’s a new ritual that’s sort of my way to start fresh every morning and reflect. I like to meditate, read, and ponder while breathing in the fresh air. It’s been a great way for me to have a positive and healthy start to the day so I thought I’d share it with you guys! Anyways, today’s blog post is all about this Fall look that I wore earlier this weekend – so let’s get to it!
In Between Seasons
Were kind of in that funky time where were not really in Fall yet, and not quite Summer either. Some days it’s got me thinking “what do I wear?” Well, some of my favorite tricks for the transition between Summer and Fall is OTK boots with shorts and dresses, loose and light sweaters, and of course something like this amazing one sleeved sweater from Laura Siegel.
What’s fun about this transition time is that it usually means the weather is pretty mild. I love mild weather because it’s so comfortable. No sweating bullets while wearing next to nothing, and no shivering with tons of layers on. It’s pretty nice.
This sweater was perfect for this weather because it’s very breathable and light. It’s also just kind of the cutest sweater ever, I love the uniqueness of it and the quality is amazing. I decided to pair it with these fun flared corduroys from Free People to play on the boho vibe.
Story Behind The Brand
This sweater caught my eye because it’s beautiful and unique, but when I learned more about the brand I knew I was a life long fan. Laura Siegel employs artisans from all over the world to help produce their products. This practice ensures that these people are able to maintain their cultures and their crafts. Laura Siegel also ensures that these artisans are given the proper education, tools, and support to grow their business and hone their craft. By employing these artisans they have eliminated the use of heavy machinery and pollution, therefore benefiting the planet greatly.
As some of you may or may not know, I studied Cultural Anthropology in college and I still consider it to be one of my greatest passions. Needless to say, when I read the story behind this brand I had major heart eyes. It lit up my world to know that there are designers and companies out there with intentions and ethics that strongly consider values such as these. So anyways, I have a huge brand crush on Laura Siegel and I wanted to share their amazing philosophy with you guys!
